Valery Gavrilin: biography, photo, creativity

"Talents, where do you come from?" - From childhood. I compose and live only with what I have absorbed in my childhood in my native land "(Valery Gavrilin). The biography, briefly stated which is very difficult, this person was closely associated with art. This composer introduced into his work all the spiritual beauty of his city and region. Trembling, vulnerability, subtlety, tenderness - all this was embodied in the composer's works.

Born under Vologda's voice

Valery Alexandrovich Gavrilin was born on August 17, 1939 in the family of teachers. For the future composer, as for many of his peers, a kindergarten was a war that brought famine, misfortunes, and orphanhood. The father of Vladimir, who went to war, perishes in August 1942 near Leningrad. The family moves to live in the village of Perkhuryev. From there the mother is close to the orphanage, which was located in the village of Vozdvizhensky, where she worked as a director.

The hard time, the exhausting work, the hungry winter of 1946 did not prevent the villagers from arranging winter gatherings with the search of the accordion, dances and chants "under the tongue," lingering, sad songs. Valera absorbed all this as a sponge. This continued until 1950, and then the childhood ended suddenly. The mother was arrested on false charges, not allowing to see the children, Aunt Galya took her sister, and the eleven-year-old homely boy goes to the Vologda children's home.

Children

At the orphanage there was a choir, a piano and a musician Tatiana Tomashevskaya. Neither in the choir, nor in dances Valery Gavrilin, whose biography went in the other direction, did not succeed. Also it does not matter he played the instruments. But at the sight of the accompanist, the boy was breathtaking. He was overwhelmed with the desire to create music himself and write notes.

Once in the city came from the Leningrad Conservatory Professor Ivan Mikhailovich Belozemtsev to select gifted children. He was shown a boy who is trying to write music. The professor decided to play on the sheet music notebook of Valery, but was stopped by the future composer, who decided to show his composition. A guest from Leningrad asked me to play amazing music more than once. From that moment Valery's life changed.

Training

In 1953, with the permission of his mother, who managed to gain freedom, he was taken to a music school at the Leningrad Conservatory. Gavrilin was educated in the class of clarinet. Later he moved to the composer department. Valery studied with ecstasy. Overplayed all the famous symphonies and sonatas, all new works.

At the age of nineteen the young composer entered the conservatory at the department of the theory of composing works. After learning a couple of years, he suddenly goes to the musicology department and takes a more serious interest in folklore. During the course of his studies Valery Gavrilin was on expeditions, studied village life, memorized the language, recorded songs. The trips were difficult. The work is not only a rumor, but also a soul, a heart. Post-war, hungry villages, women's harsh songs helped Valery Gavrilin connect the future classical music with folk art. And also write a book about the work of V. Solovyov-Sedoi.

Success in music and crisis

Towards the end of his studies at the Conservatoire, Gavrilin wrote the Suite "Cockroach", several strings for the quartet and "The German Notebook" - a vocal cycle for Heine's poems, which was received by the Union of Composers with an ovation and for many years was part of the performers' repertoire.

At the insistence of Shostakovich Valery entered postgraduate study. He passed the exams externally. The diploma work was the cycle "Russian notebook". In 1965, at the concluding concert of the decade of Leningrad music, the performance of this work was a huge success. Gavrilin began to be called "Yesenin from music". In 1967, the composer became the youngest winner of the Glinka Prize.

After such a stunning success, Gavrilin begins a creative crisis. He always writes a lot, but can not achieve that high creative achievement that he created in his vocal cycles. And he for a few years goes into the shadows, where he creates piano pieces, suites, writes music for films and plays. And only in the seventy-second year he managed to write several powerful works, such as the opera The Tale of the Violinist Vanyusha, the symphonic works Military Letters and German Notebook 2. A little later, there are others: "German Notebook 3", "Evening" From the Old Woman's Album "and a cycle of poetry by Shulgina" Earth. "

In all these works Gavrilin managed to create a new genre, which one of the musicologists called "song-symphonic". His pop-musical works have such a high level that they were performed with pleasure and performed by opera and chamber celebrities.

Theater and music

The composer made a great contribution to the theater. His music sounds in many performances and the most significant work of Gavrilin became "Chimes", born after the author read the works of Vasily Shukshin.

Choral work "Chimes" is a musical picture of the life of ordinary people. The ringing in the composition personifies the symbol of life in its various manifestations. This is a kind of alarm to humanity - do not kill the good in yourself, do not envy, create positive deeds, fall in love with beauty.

Ballet

Valery Gavrilin, whose photo was known to many Soviet citizens, had a huge success in ballet. In 1983, "Anyuta" receives the "Golden Prize". Three years later he was placed on the stage of the San Carlo Theater.

And this work appeared thanks to the director Alexander Belinsky, who decided to put "Anna on the neck" as a ballet film. Considering the plot, he heard the performance of "Waltz" Gavrilin and was fascinated by him, suggested the composer to combine various piano miniatures in a single whole with the "Waltz" at the head of the musical accompaniment of the ballet Anyuta. The parties in the ballet were performed by such masters of their craft as Maximova and Vasiliev. Subsequently, this creative union of talented people created a telebalt "House by the Road" based on the work of Tvardovsky.

In the eighty-ninth year Gavrilin wrote the score for the ballet "The Wedding of Balzaminov", which was later embodied in the film Belinsky.

Valery Gavrilin, composer and musician, wrote several ballet pieces, in which the tragic traits of his music are clearly heard.

Personal life

Most of the life of Valery Alexandrovich was held in Leningrad, but, despite this, he never interrupted his connection with Vologda. He took part in many events of his native land.

Personal life has developed just as well as the work of Valery Gavrilin. In 1959 Valery married the teacher of the orphanage Natasha Steinberg. Seeing his future wife for the first time three years before the wedding, Gavrilin immediately thought that he would marry her. For him it was love at first sight. Between them there was a big age difference, but Valery Alexandrovich could interest, entice and fall in love with Natasha, with whom he lived almost forty years.

Talented people can not live forever, they leave, leaving a memory for a year. In 1999, on January 28, Valery Alexandrovich Gavrilin was no more. After his death, the "Legacy of Gavrilin" remained.
