These robots are perfectly aware of what they are doing!

The king seeks a new counselor and summons three wise men to himself. He says that each of them will wear a white or blue hat on his head, and at least one of these three hats will be blue. Wise men should know the color of their hat, not communicating with each other, to become a new adviser to the king. After a few minutes of silence, one of the sages rises and calls the correct answer.

Self-awareness

This puzzle is a famous test for logic and self-awareness, and a group of researchers reproduced a similar test, only not in humans, but on robots. This study was conducted in order to demonstrate that artificial intelligence can also have self-awareness.

Self-awareness in the case of artificial intelligence

The three Nao humanoid robots were programmed to think that two of them were given a "stupid tablet", which deprived them of the gift of speech. All three robots were asked one question - which tablet they received? Two of them were silent, and the third said, "I do not know." After that he thought over his answer, realizing the following - if he can talk, then he did not get the same pill. Accordingly, the robot changed his answer, he said: "Sorry, now I know. I was able to prove that I did not get this pill. " The head of the study said that this demonstration showed that logic and mathematics can correlate with self-awareness. And this means that robots can be created in such a way that their actions and decisions differ in some degree of self-awareness. However, before you begin to prepare for the rebellion of cars, it is worth noting that the conditions of this test were severely limited. But despite this, it became clear that self-consciousness can still be programmed, and this can open new ways of developing artificial intelligence.
