Tax deduction for study: it's not so hard to get, as it might seem at first glance
Many of us, not having enough information, are very distrustful of taxes and everything connected with them, fully relying on their payment to their employers. Meanwhile, in some cases, some of them can be returned as social deductions.
There is an opinion among the people that it is almost impossible to obtain them because of the large number of documents required and bureaucratic red tape. But for those who once figured out the procedure, filing a declaration does not look like such a frightening measure.
Deduction for training - who is it supposed to be? In what size?
Those who can count on a tax refund in this case can be divided into those who pay tuition independently and those for whom the next of kin make it.
In the first case, everything is quite simple: you can get a tax deduction for studying at a preschool, secondary or higher educational institution, studying a foreign language or passing courses in a driving school. Thus, there are no restrictions on the type of institution. The institution, however, must be licensed to conduct educational activities. If there is no license, you can not get a deduction.
If children (their age should not be more than 24 years old) are paid by parents, brothers or sisters, a tax deduction for study can be obtained only by studying at the faculty of the full-time department.
The maximum amount of funds that the state is ready to return, in this case is 5600 rubles per year (13% of 50,000 rubles). This amount can be obtained for one child, that is, if there are several children, you can get compensation for each child.
You can apply for a deduction not earlier than the next year after you pay for your studies (if the training is paid in 2012, you can receive a refund of the personal income tax in 2013, 2014 and in 2015). Thus, it takes 3 years to apply for a student / student or his / her relatives.
Return of personal income tax for education - necessary documents
In addition to the passport and application to the inspection it will be necessary to provide:
- A completed declaration;
- Confirmation of income in the form of 2-NDFL;
- A copy of the license of the educational institution;
- A copy of the contract for educational services;
- Confirmation of payment.
In conclusion, it is worth noting that the tax refund period is four months from the date of filing the declaration.
