Phosphoric fertilizers: features of application

Phosphate fertilizers are an important component in the development of plants. However, not all growers know how to properly apply these substances, so as not to harm the cultivated crops.

Using fertilizers for hydroponics, gardeners ensure the flow of valuable substances into the body of plants. Phosphorus is necessary for both young and adult plantations. Its deficiency in the early stages may affect the further development of cultures. When there is a shortage of the element, the plants linger in their development and begin to look old. Phosphorus provides many processes: flowering, ripening of seeds, due to which the resistance of crops to unfavorable conditions increases.

If phosphorus fertilizers are supplied in insufficient quantities, then the reproduction in the plant organism of sugars, leading to the formation of anthocyanins, increases, which intensifies the staining of leaves, petioles, veins, stems in reddish, purplish or bluish tones.

Unlike potassium and nitrogen, which plants absorb in a dissolved form, phosphorus in the soil is contained in the form of insoluble salts of aluminum and iron (in acidic medium) or magnesium and calcium (in alkaline). Therefore, it is necessary to extract the necessary element from the soil for the plants themselves, phosphorus fertilizers make it easier to make this process. In addition, through the roots there is a withdrawal of excess phosphorus. Overdosing is dangerous for plants that experience shock and begin to "burn up".

When applied to the soil, phosphate fertilizers immediately begin to react, and they are difficult to remove from the soil. If the land is taken from a forest or park, then phosphorus can then be on the surface. And the upper peat and podzolic soils are poor in this element.

Flower growers should bear in mind that for good flowering, not only phosphorus additives are needed. An important role is played also by such fertilizers for the garden, which contain iron, aluminum, cobalt, zinc, copper, manganese, boron and other microelements. Without these substances, flowering and tying of seeds is impossible.

To speed up flowering, some gardeners contribute an additional dose of phosphate fertilizers. However, such a method can only harm plants, this is especially true in the absence of other elements. It should be said that phosphorus is well absorbed in the presence of molybdenum, in the absence of this substance, the soil can be poisoned with phosphorus.

With the abundance of this substance and the lack of molybdenum, the plant can remain in the state of phosphorus starvation. In addition, excessive phosphorus fertilizers lead to inhibition of absorption and assimilation of such useful substances as iron and nickel. And with their lack of achieving normal flowering plants will not succeed. On the contrary, such top dressing can lead to the absence of flowers.

Thus, in the cultivation of plants, it is necessary to carefully introduce phosphorus fertilizers, especially in liquid form. When carrying out the feeding of crops, all the nuances should be taken into account, and then the plants will be pleased with the long abundant flowering and good harvest.
