Mission of the company and the need to define it

Companies are created and closed every day. Many firms that have a quality product or service, despite everything, eventually become bankrupt. The reason for this lies in the fact that their goal is only to earn money, but in business it is sometimes worth sacrificing profitability in order to secure a future for themselves.

Mission and Goals

Large corporations and international companies already understood the importance of defining the mission of the company many years ago. Their leadership has become clear that money is not the only value, but the real value has the process of activity. For this reason, when creating companies, they define their mission, goals and vision.

Of course, the question may arise: "What is the mission of the company different from its objectives?". We will try to answer it. The bottom line is that the company's mission is a short-formed philosophy and the purpose of its activity. Having achieved certain goals, the company will approach its mission.

How to create a mission

There are certain rules for the formation of a mission. First, it must be based on the fundamental human values that are inherent in every individual. This will ensure universal recognition and respect.

Secondly, it must be clearly and specifically formulated. Management, like every employee, must clearly understand what it is necessary to strive for, what is the priority and what can not be neglected.

Thirdly, the mission should be short and easy to comprehend. It should not contain words that require additional clarification. It should be able to remember the employee of the company of any age and professional level. This requirement is necessary so that each employee can easily remember the mission and understand its meaning.

Fourth, the mission of the company should be the principle of carrying out the work of each employee. For this reason, management conducts all sorts of activities so that each employee understands the mission and is guided by it in their activities.

World experience

All companies that have achieved popularity and world recognition have their mission. For example, Apple's mission is to provide interactive devices that improve the lives of people around the world. To ensure that the company's activities are consistent with its mission, it is necessary to make certain sacrifices and hardships. For example, some are actively involved in helping the poor, others provide significant discounts to socially disadvantaged groups of the population, while others take part in environmental protection activities. All this requires certain expenses and does not bring any profit at all. But, nevertheless, such activity brings a significant effect to the firm.

Undoubtedly, the mission of the company is very important in its activities, but many put profit above everything else. This approach leads to collapse and bankruptcy. People understand that companies that do not have a higher goal than money are completely indifferent to the well-being of their clients. This leads to a sharp decline in sales and does not allow it to win in competition.
