How to tie a crocheted belt: diagrams and description of models

Many craftsmen, who know how to knit, think about how to make a belt crocheted. Schemes and descriptions (for dresses, tunics or even jeans) will be offered further, as well as recommendations for yarn and knitting techniques.

Which material is right for you?

To begin with, it should be said that knitted belts should be either very stiff, like traditional belts, or have the appearance of a sash (a narrow soft strip of cloth). If the craftsman tries to create a tight belt from a thin or too soft thread, the product will be nonfunctional and, most likely, its entire century is at the bottom of the chest drawer.

The material should be selected for the chosen model, then you get a practical and beautiful belt crochet. Diagrams and description of the dense belt model are given in the following paragraphs.

Optimum option for rigid products is cotton or linen. Its thickness should be at least 300 m per 100 grams, and the size of the hook number 2. With this combination of thick thread and thin hook, the canvas should turn out to be rather rough. If the craftsman knits too weak, it is better to use the hook even smaller. At the end of the work, the crochet belt (diagrams and description, as well as the thickness of the thread, do not matter at this stage) should be steamed with an iron and soaked with a solution of starch or sugar.

Belt-sash

For soft belts, you can use absolutely any yarn, except acrylic (it will roll down and quickly lose its appearance). Good looking products of their thin cotton, microfiber and viscose. They are knit very long, since the free edges should be tied into a knot and hang at least 40 cm.

The ends of the belt are often decorated with fringe with beads, beads or paillettes. In this case, more material is needed to perform such a crocheted crochet belt (the patterns and description can be a fragment of an ordinary flat cloth or a lace border). Soft products do not necessarily starch, but it is desirable to steam the iron. It is not worthwhile to place the heated device on the canvas, as artificial fibers immediately stick to the sole. When working with cotton it's not dangerous.

How to tie an openwork belt with a crochet: diagrams and description

The photo below shows an example of a hardworking belt. To its size was as planned by the master, you should perform a test sample, using the selected threads and the scheme.

The finished fragment must be steamed with an iron so that it takes on a real size (stretched or shrunk). Then you need to measure one rapport and calculate how much they will be required for the entire product. It should be noted that when you wear the belt will inevitably stretch a few centimeters.

Now you can start knitting the crocheted belt. Schemes and descriptions give a complete idea of the order of work:

  1. Run a chain of air loops (VP) of the correct size.
  2. 3 VP, * 3 columns with a crochet (SSN), 2 VP, 3 SSN, 1 VP *. Part of the description between the asterisks must be repeated to the end of the series.
  3. * 3ВП, a magnificent column from 5СНН (ПС), 5 ВП, ПС, 3 ВП, a column without накида (СБН) *.
  4. Next, you need to link the 3VP and go to processing the second side of the initial chain from the VI. All actions are performed in the same way as along the first side.

Shutdown

When the canvas is connected, it must be stripped and starched. Then sew the selected fastener. This can be a buckle, buttons, a magnet or something else.

Often such products are also fastened with a long fringe, which is then tied into a knot.

The buckles are very functional, as their rod can penetrate any opening of the lace fabric.

It should be said that, no matter how strong such a belt has turned out, it still can not be used as an alternative to an ordinary belt. If you want to wear the product in the loop of jeans or other trousers, you should take care of the lining.

Belts on lining

The photo below shows the products sewn onto the fabric base. This solution gives ready belts many important qualities:

  1. Lack of elasticity (they do not stretch).
  2. Strength.
  3. Longevity (longer serve and do not tear).

Bright cotton is used as a basis, but you can sew a knitted lace strip on an ordinary leather belt. By the way, this solves the problem with the buckle and holes for its pin.

If a craftsman decides to sew a base on his own, it may not make holes for fastening the buckle. The photo shows that there are ways to fix belts in the desired position by sewing buckles having a special design.

To the base of the product was sufficiently dense, inside it is necessary to put in several layers of non-woven fabric or some hard fabric (for example, tarpaulin or jeans).

You can use the remnants of fine yarn to create such a belt crochet (the schemes and descriptions here are quite different). As an alternative to the knitted fabric, a wide open-work edging of cotton is suitable. In the fabric store, you need to buy a piece of the necessary length and stitch it to the chosen base.
