Hired killer Richard Kuklinsky: biography

For brutal atrocities and a sophisticated mind, he was nicknamed "The Iceman". The murderer and murderer Richard Kuklinski always always dealt with his victims differently, getting rid of the corpses with particular cruelty. He could freeze the body in the cell or lay a bomb to hide the traces of the crime. Richard Kuklinski could easily strangle, kill or set fire to a person without experiencing any remorse after that. Once, criminologists found in the body of one of the victims an unburned piece of ice. After that, the killer was called "The Iceman", the legend of which made people terrified. For his criminal activities, Richard Kuklinsky received substantial royalties from representatives of the Italian-American criminal communities. The Mafia generously rewarded the murderer for the service provided. His main employer was Roy De Meo, an authoritative gangster who was the key person in the New York mafia.

And few people can guess that this intelligent man of high stature with a "professorial" beard first went on the murder at the age of fourteen. How could a young man become a cruel murderer? Let's consider this issue in more detail.

Biographical information

The hired killer Richard Kuklinsky (date of birth: April 11, 1935) could not boast that he had a happy family. He was born in one of the poor districts of New Jersey. His father worked as a simple conductor on the railway, and his mother was engaged in packing food at the meat-packing plant. The future mother murderer did not like his parents because his father abused alcohol, and his mother adhered to excessively harsh measures in education. His younger brother Florian died of his father's beatings, although law enforcement officers managed to convince him that an accident occurred with the boy. Another brother Joseph turned into a murderer and rapist, so Richard Kuklinsky, whose biography contains a lot of interesting and noteworthy, grew up in a dysfunctional family.

Raised the street

It can be said that no one was engaged in the upbringing of the boy, so he was left to himself.

All his free time he hung around the streets, where the harsh law dominated, the essence of which boils down to the following: "The strongest survive." At the age of 14 he had to prove his right of superiority: he fought with a local hooligan and scored to death. Soon in a street environment, Richard began to enjoy authority: the young man did not hesitate to beat those who tried to cause him inconvenience.

The beginning of criminal activity

Married at the age of twenty-five at a girl named Barbara, Kuklinsky was forced to get a job to support the family. Soon she was replenished by three offspring. However, no one was in a hurry to offer a young man a good position, since he not only had no higher education, but he did not finish school either . But those who called him "loser" and "ignorant", Richard could cruelly punish or even kill. And the young man did it calmly and coolly. Fate confronts him with members of the family De Cavalcante, who suggested that he earn a criminal way. Gradually, the murder was turned into his main profession, in which he regularly improved. The young man was gaining experience, killing ordinary homeless Manhattan, whose corpses he threw into the abyss of Hudson.

The police did not immediately manage to establish whose hands it was.

Work at Roy De Meo

The murderer Richard Kuklinsky after some time gets acquainted with the authoritative gangster Roy De Meo. But their meeting could not be called pleasant: the murderer owed money to the Mafiosi. Wishing to teach a lesson to the "irresponsible" borrower, De Meo began to beat him, using the usual whip and the handle of the gun. However, with himself, Kuklinsky had a weapon that did not apply. By his behavior he deserved the gangster's respect, after which the latter offered the killer a profitable cooperation.

To demonstrate loyalty to his patron, Richard Kuklinski "went" to another crime. Once stopping the car, De Meo himself chose the victim: she was a man who was walking the dog. The "Executor" got out of the car and, approaching the minimum distance to the person, just shot him in the back of the head. After such a "successful" work, hired killer Richard Kuklinsky was permanently provided with "permanent orders", with the approval of his "boss".

Specificity of criminal activity

"Icy Man" improved his skills of a cruel murderer for thirty years.

As already stressed, he chose a variety of ways to eliminate victims. Richard could fire a bullet into a person, poison him or eliminate an offender with a hand grenade. Kuklinsky preferred to use cyanide, since after it the lethal outcome came quickly, and the traces of poison did not practically leave.

There is no limit to cruelty

The subtleties of the process of deprivation of life by means of poisonous substances and explosive ammunition of "Frozen Man" was taught by his "colleague" Robert Pronzh, who wore the simple nickname "Mr. Soft". It was the mentor who once ordered Robert to kill his own wife and child.

Quite often Kuklinsky dismembered the bodies of exhausted, but still alive people with a chainsaw.

Deal with victims Richard loved and through a 55-gallon oil barrel. Often the corpses of people were placed in "unusable" vehicles in landfills or dropped into deep pits where they were then eaten by rats.

The "career" of the killer goes uphill

By the 70s, Richard Kuklinsky, whose photo subsequently appeared regularly in newspapers covering the criminal chronicles, had become a wealthy and financially independent person.

The murderer acquired elite housing in a prestigious area where he lived with his family and tried to lead a respectable middle class. The price of the order "Iceman" in those years determined in 50 thousand dollars. Surprisingly, neither the wife nor the children of Kuklinsky had any idea until the last day what the father of the family earns. He explained to them that he had made a fortune in successfully building a business.

Crimes continue

But in reality he did not stop practicing his former craft. In the first half of the 80's, "Ice Man" brutally dealt with a certain Gary Smith, whose corpse was hidden under the bed of the hotel's hotel room. When examining his body, experts recorded asphyxiation traces.

Another shocking murder occurred in the fall of 1983 in one of the city parks. The victim was a certain Luis Masgay. His body murderer first froze in a refrigerator, and then "threw" the police.

The sunset of a criminal career

Of course, one can not justify the horrendous atrocities committed by the hired killer Richard Kuklinsky. The number of victims on his account is still not accurately established. However, the "Iceman" himself once said that he had killed more than two hundred people.

He was caught only in 1986. The only evidence against the killer was the testimony of the secret agent Dominic Polifron. Thanks to these testimonies, law enforcement agencies managed to bring a case against a serial killer. The "ice man" had to purchase a dose of cyanide from an injected agent, meeting him personally. Two hours later, handcuffs closed on Richard's wrists. In the car of the murderer, a weapon was found. He was charged with a number of paragraphs of articles that provide for punishment for looting and murder.

Pay

In 1988, the homeland of "Frozen Man" (New Jersey) held a trial on the facts of his atrocious atrocities. Representatives of Themis sentenced him to several lifelong terms. Theoretically, for early release he could count only after reaching 110 years of age. Fifteen years after the verdict was passed, he confessed to the murder of New York policeman Peter Calabro, and his prison term was extended for another 30 years.

In places not so remote, "Iceman" willingly communicated with prosecutors, psychiatrists, gave interviews to film producers and writers. Subsequently, the biography of the assassin published a book by Phillip Caro, which served as the basis for the script for the film "The Iceman".

Richard Kuklinsky died in prison on March 5, 2006 at the age of 70 years. The results of the autopsy showed that the hired killer died for natural reasons.
