"Black list": actors and roles. The Blacklist - American TV series

For the third consecutive season, the American television series "The Black List" is at the center of attention of cinephiles. Actors who play the leading roles in it, are famous all over the world. The original plot, "fresh" faces, well-written characters - all this is the hallmark of the series, famous in dozens of countries.

What is the point?

If you are looking for an original show that would have surprised with its originality, be sure to check out the "Black List". The series is built around the personality of Raymond Reddington, who previously held a high post in the US Department of Defense. It is he who has secret information that can help to prevent the largest crimes planned by the enemies of the whole country.

Killers, maniacs, terrorists - they are all free to roam the territory of the US, which negatively affects the external and internal security of the state. Reddingon voluntarily surrenders to the authorities and the FBI, but he has a condition: he is ready to transfer all information about the crimes being prepared to only one person - the new FBI analyst Elizabeth Keane. Why her? Why did Reddingon voluntarily surrender? What is he pursuing the goal? It is to these questions that viewers try to find an answer for three consecutive seasons.

Cast

Producers and directors of the project managed to find a star team for the creation of the TV series "Black List", the actors for the most part took samples for the first time and started to work. In total, the show involves six main characters, they are occasionally diluted with six more episodic ones. On the question of why it is impossible to introduce more heroes, the script writers of the project notice that they would not like to overload the viewer with characters and emotions.

The main roles in the series are played by James Spader (Raymond Reddington) and Megan Boon (Elizabeth Keane). The actors have worked very well with each other, in the interview they both note that a special "chemistry" has appeared between them, which allows us to hope for the further development of the relationship between their characters. Fans note that something similar can be seen in the movie "The Silence of the Lambs" between the characters of Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster.

Raymond Reddington

The character played by James Spader is ambiguous. The cynicism of Reddington in relation to himself and others sometimes puts others at a dead end, from which it takes a long time to get out. A calculating and complex character, who always has a pair of "aces" in his sleeve - that's how Raymond characterizes the actor himself.

At the very beginning of the series, Reddington shows absolutely disregard for the FBI staff surrounding him, especially to agent Donald Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff). The hero is ready to cooperate only with Elizabeth, as an explanation of the reason for his choice, he only claims that it differs from all of its colleagues with the mind and original thinking.

Elizabeth Keane

Megan Boone - Elizabeth Keane - is the central character of the series, in any case, this is exactly what its creators counted on. However, by the end of the first season, it became clear that Spader was the project leader. That's why the writers began to make up for lost time and turned the new FBI analyst into a superspy, constantly saving his colleagues from certain death.

Initially, the audience and critics were very wary of Megan, they thought that the girl is not too suitable for the role of a supergiant. The actress admitted that she read reviews about the series on the Internet and several times even cried, stumbled upon a particularly vicious attack on her. However, it was these reviews that helped Boone to work out his role more thoroughly and gain recognition from fans of the television series.

Donald Ressler

Actor Diego Klattenhoff plays the harsh colleague Elizabeth Keane - FBI agent Donald Ressler. This one character sends his kinomaniacs to such masterpieces as "Silence of the Lambs", "Hannibal" and "Spy". A whole hero who knows what is good and what is evil, and strives to do everything for the victory of the bright forces.

Resslinger "developed" Reddington for five years, and the FBI agent thought he knew everything about the criminal, but the situation changed radically after the capture of Raymond. And the very fact that a former civil servant wants to communicate only with Elizabeth, and not with Donald, who has spent so much time and effort on catching Reddington, is very much affected by the Klattenhoff character. Whether Donald will manage to cope with this kind of jealousy or not, you can find out just by watching the show.

Harold Cooper

Harry Lennix, the star of the Matrix, Tit and Man of Steel projects, plays a modest role as the deputy director of the FBI responsible for countering terrorism. The hero of Lennix - Harold Cooper - directs Kin and Ressler, and it is he who gives permission for Elizabeth to spend as much time with Reddington.

The actor admits that Cooper "turned out" for him not at once, this role required him to achieve sometimes even excessive emotional calmness and restraint. Harry notes that he enjoys sharing scenes with Spader, because the actors have known each other for a long time, they always joke around in the frame. Therefore, the likelihood that after the release of the next season the fans of the series will be able to look at its unsuccessful duplicates, is very high.

Reviews and criticism

The "Black List" is a controversial series, if at first it was called a rather unfortunate parody of "Silence of the Lambs", now critics have a completely different opinion of him. The project has collected all the best that has appeared on screens for the last two or three decades. Here there is also the mindset of the murderer, shown in its unfolded form, and the morally mature for a few months a naive girl, and secrets that need to be guessed. Part of the series is similar to the famous "X-Files", because there are "monsters of the week" here that do not let people sleep peacefully.

Of course, the main driving force of the project - Reddington and Keane, the first is practically invulnerable, his insights can only be envied. Surrendering to the FBI, he literally took them "hooked," and now conducts his game so that the rest about it do not even guess. Agent Keen in this case is in a losing position, because most of the cones get it to her, regardless of whether she is guilty or not.

Producers for a long time did not want to take on the "Black List". Actors, who would have been able to do this kind of genre, were not found all at once. Separately it is necessary to say about the professional and personal growth of agent Kin, which leaves all the illusions of a quiet life. In the end, she takes a place worthy of Reddington. The creators of the series do not exclude the possibility that sooner or later Elizabeth will take the place of Raymond in the underworld.

Intrigues and riddles

If you watched the "Black List", the actors who played the main roles in it definitely caused you certain questions and certain emotions. One of the main riddles of the series is whether Elizabeth Keane will be able to solve her personal drama. The FBI's new-born agent's spouse is far from as simple as it might seem, he has a whole crowd of skeletons in the closet that Elizabeth will have to pull out to sort things out.

The main mystery of the series - why Ruddington voluntarily surrendered to the FBI, what purpose does he pursue? The scriptwriters do not give an answer to this question, preferring to keep intrigue, because it is not known how many seasons the Black List will have. His relationship with Elizabeth, when he praises her, then blames for lack of professionalism and absolute ignorance, and also leaves a lot of questions, which one way or another need to find answers.

Prospects

Shooting of the series began in May 2012, and in August 2013, the NBC channel bought a "pilot" from the author of the series John Bokenkamp and Sony Pictures. For four months there was an agreement between various divisions of the channel, the expenses and possible profit were calculated. Finally, in January 2013 the channel gave permission to begin work on the pilot episode of the series.

Casting for the main roles was held in February 2013, with Boone taking the role of the first, and Spader joined the project in mid-March. In May 2013, NBC approved the filmed "pilot" and ordered the shooting of further episodes. The "Black List", the 3rd season of which began to appear in October 2015, continues the triumphant march on the planet. On NBC, for his show, they were given a seat in the prime time, right after the show The Voice (the Russian analogue - "The Voice"). The project is very popular in the US and European countries, when it is completed, is still unknown.
