A fatal diagnosis is thyroid cancer, symptoms

The thyroid gland is located on the neck, with normal functioning it is not visible, when its functions are violated, the gland is enlarged, and on the surface of the neck a goiter is formed, and in the presence of the disease - nodes that can be both benign and malignant.

Nodes are usually benign, if a malignant node has been found, it can absorb iodine, releasing thyroid hormones.

Malignant nodes are dangerous, since they can develop into thyroid cancer, the symptoms of which are not immediately apparent. In this case, this disease develops in 1% of people, most often, the female at the age of more than fifty years. Cancer appears more often in people who are exposed to radiation exposure to the upper body. Malignant nodes damage tissues and organs that are nearby, they have the property of disintegrating, cancer cells thus enter the blood and lymph, forming new tumors - metastases.

So, thyroid cancer, the symptoms of which are caused by the location of this organ, can have different sizes. With a small tumor size, the tumor in the organ can be palpated, in such cases the knot is dense and immobile. If the size of the tumor is somewhat larger, it can cause discomfort in the neck, characterized by a sense of gravity. It should be borne in mind that These signs are not an absolute guarantee of the development of a disease such as thyroid cancer, these symptoms may accompany other disorders of the thyroid gland.

With a large tumor size, it can spread to neighboring organs and tissues and is accompanied by loss of voice, coughing and suffocation.

The precancerous state can be characterized by the presence of nodular goiter, which in inflammatory processes in the cervical region, as well as in various kinds of irradiation, can develop into thyroid cancer, whose prognosis is unfavorable, since the tumor begins to grow with time. Therefore, attention should be paid to the presence of goiter, especially among those who live in contaminated areas.

To date, there are such varieties of thyroid cancer:

1. Anaplastic cancer. This disease is observed in 1% of patients and is characterized by a rapid growth of cancer cells, so control of the disease is almost impossible.

2. Giant cell cancer. It occurs in people aged more than fifty years and has the ability to spread rapidly. However, a cancerous tumor does not absorb iodine and, in the most frequent cases, it is removed.

3. Metastatic cancer. Cancer cells spread to internal organs, bones and the brain, while the tumor absorbs radioactive iodine.

4. Medullary thyroid cancer symptoms are pronounced and amenable to treatment, since it does not have time to spread to other organs and tissues.

5. Papillary cancer. Occurs in 90% of cases, most often in people aged from thirty years. The cancerous tumor slowly grows, therefore it is subject to treatment at an early stage of the disease development.

6. Good cancer. The disease affects its progressivity, the tumor spreads to the tissues and lymph nodes. In this disease, radiation therapy is required.

7. Follicular cancer. The tumor absorbs iodine to a small extent and often spreads to the human bones.

Summarizing, it should be said that thyroid cancer signs are not specific. With an increase in temperature, the appearance of nausea, swelling of the skin, as well as with the formation of goiter, it is necessary to undergo an examination for the detection of cancer cells. It should be remembered that with the early detection of a malignant tumor, treatment can be effective and give good results.
